And yet no one calls it porn, no one comments, no one says anything. The people in our artistic community are pathetic and obviously have their mature filters off and are prowling for pictures of women only. So everyone can shut the hell up, should be dammed ashamed of themselves. Again, great picture Dirk.
never seen artistic bondage before, anyway that pose reminds me of one of those yoga poses, the illumination is focused on the model so you could have used a black screen as background and nobody would have noticed, nice composition anyway, keep up this photo art style.
It could be fetish photography but It not deserves a DD. The only thing interesting in this pic is the diagonal on the line of action. Personally I think photography is not well framed, the use of lights is very ugly and poorly used. The photo has nothing professional and tells us nothing. The only interesting are some shades and shadows on the skin, the rest is a quite mediocre. If this had been done with a minimum of taste then I would accept that it was a daily deviation.
Nothing "deserves" a DD, as it's not an award, or reward, and there is not actually a level of professionalism "required" to be featured. If you have any concerns about something I've featured, please feel free to address them to me personally. While your critique here is fine, questions or statements about the deservingness of a feature are inappropriate.
"A Daily Deviation is intended to give an artist a chance to be seen by a large portion of the community..." This implies that the artist deserves the exposure. Yes, the knot-work is pretty, but it is presented in a completely unappealing way (it's a terrible photograph). If you had really intended to give the artist heightened exposure, then you shouldn't have picked the worst thing in his gallery.
To say that something deservers a Daily Deviation continues being my opinion and my judgement. Sometimes I do not understand the criteria they use in deviantart to accept the DD. I don't ask to a perfect workart or totally professional but I ask at least something that makes deserves a DD. I see this like so many others. As much as you defend him I think that I still won't understand it
Inappropriate to voice your opinion that this deviation does not deserve a DD in the DD comments itself. It is disrespectful because the artist did not feature themselves as a DD, they have no control what-so-ever about whether or not they get a DD.
Your negative opinions are not disrespectful, although they could have used a little more tact and proper critique to make it useful. They are allowed on the deviation in question.
Saying it does not deserve a DD or the photo is not a good choice as a DD (or "whatever negative" DD) is against the rules you said you would follow when you signed up to this site. The subject of stating negatively against the awarding of a DD should be taken to the gallery mod who featured the deviation (as is stated in the rules in the FAQ section you were linked to).
I'm sure you didn't mean to attack anyone. In fact you didn't do it directly or indirectly.
I think it's just upsetting to a person when someone says they don't deserve a feature they never asked for. I would personally take it quite hard considering the amount of effort I put into my work (the older stuff may look a bit meh, but at the time it was my best). I think this is a big part of why dA instituted this rule (that and the DD recipient did not give themselves the DD, so complaining to them is useless).
